The series of billboard, 100x70, 2016

Bruises on a human’s body are traditionally linked to violence and perceived as an element of a semiotic system encrypted with strong negative associations and a desire to hide "private" from "public". Working on the project my intention was to show a different vision of the phenomenon. I gave particular attention to the light and poses of models on the visual plastic level while on the verbal level I used (image) captions in the form of advertising slogans imitating so called genre of a photo banner with catchphrases that can be seen on street billboards. By doing so I tried to aestheticize bruises of models on a larger scale and incorporate them into the social context which usually precludes the interchange of labels imposed by society: public /private, attractive /ugly, dreadful /beautiful.
